Is it the large or mini types?

The Vapex ones are very good, and reliable.

Unless you get a 9.6v you won't see any performance increase. (The 9.6v will up your rate of fire a bit). If it is large, getting a bigger Mah will increase how long it lasts. Mine is 4300, and will do a whole weekend with ease. Finally Vapex or any other major brand will live longer full stop over the cheap ones they throw in

nah its only a stick battery and the slot can only fit 7 batteries maybe 8 so im think of a 8.4 1500mah?

Get a VApex 9.6v 1500mah battery but a couple if your a bit trigger happy. A 9.9 should fit. Have you thought about converting it to lipo?

                Li-pol - bad idea!

You'll need to do some upgrades internally, they are more complex to run and give an insane rate of fire.

Leave them until you are a bit more confident I say :D

The lengh they last, depends on the trigger finger!

Roughly: 1500mah will want changing at lunch to make sure. 2200 will do most people who day. 3300 plus, lots of spare room.

ok ill just stay with my battery but if i upgrade to a 1500mah from 1400mah same 8.4 will i notice anything
will the higher mah damage my gearbox?

                    Re: new battery which 1?

Mah is just how long it lasts, no other effects at all.

Li Po's are not a bad idea jag but I agree with everything else you say about them though. I use them in all the guns i own that don't require a stick battery and never had an issue with the. But i have been using them for a long while on Rc Models so am quite experienced with them. Problem is in his case it is a stick battery anyway so li po's are a no no anyway. Nickel hydrides are the best bet these days and I would recommend 1 9.6V 3800Mah that will give you a full days skirmish with the gun amd a pretty decent rate of fire. But that will also depend on the internals of the guns as a higher rate of fire = higher rate of wear on the internals

You dont really need an upgraded gun to use Lipo batteries.

But since your still young to Airsoft, I would suggest staying away from them for the time being, a 9.6v will do fine. You will see a slight increase in ROF and it shouldnt bother your gun if you take care of it.

                          I run a 9.6v in my stock M4 and a 10.6v in my upgraded M16.

I'm not that experianced with any makes of batteries so I cant suggest a brand, but I use Component ones. I'm sure one of the other lads may be able to help you more when it comes to brands.

A 7.4v lipo is only going to be similar to a good quality 8.4v or 9.6v battery. However, more care does have to be taken, so I would say stay away from them for now. As for a 1500mAh needing changing at lunchtime, well it depends on how\where you play. A 1500mAH battery will last me a full day at GZ, but then firefights tend to be more drawn out rather than the full on intense firefight I had at EAG Dorking yesterday.

Why's a lipo a no-no for a stick battery? Plenty of people are using them in stock tubes of Armalites or in AKs without issue. As for using a 3800mAh battery, are you sure you can get that sort of capacity in a stick? The biggest capacity I've seen is 1600mAh

as ths will not wear down the gun internals and keep a good rate of fire?
