Which Battery Set-up for my M4?
2 August, 2012, 17:11
Hello guys, was just looking for your opinions on what way to run my M4. It's made by a company called Evolution Airsoft, and is a really solid gun (quite similar to King Arms M4). The only downside to it is that the front RIS has a very limited space to fit a battery, so the best mah battery I can put in there is either an 1100mah 7.4v lipo or a 1300mah 7.4v lipo (both the 2 leg variety so I can put one on either side of the barrel.) Also, The front Ris is a pain in the neck to open and close. I have to remove 4 Allen screws, remove the lower part of the RIS, then squeeze the lipo in, and put it all back together again! I am torn between two options as I want to buy another battery. Either buy another 1100mah lipo and put up with the annoying RIS, but keep the gun looking nice, or buying an external battery bag, and a 3000mah lipo, and be able to use pretty much any battery I want. The downside of this is that it looks ugly and takes up a lot of rail space. Any of you opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Or rear-wire it.

Will the 1300mAh lipo not last the day?

Re: Which Battery Set-up for my M4?
Not too keen on PEQ boxes, dont know why maybe it's the looks, i don't know! But thanks for the suggestion anyway!
I really dont have the money to get my gun rear wired or the know-how to do it myself so that kinda rules that one out!
And fizzy to be honest it probably could last the full day but I really don't want to have to rely on it. It would be any airsofters worst case scenario rushing into a room at CQB, pulling the trigger and.....nothing! I want to have a fresh battery in my gun at the start of the day and at lunch, just to be 100% sure that I've got enough juice to last me the full time. Either that or just one big beefy Lipo.

only other option i can think of other than the ones suggested is to sell your gun and buy one that's rear wired with a full stock.

Consider a small PEQ box IMO. I have the ICS CQB one, it's small, doesn't look like a normal PEQ box and houses a 2200MAh 7.4v LiPo perfectly!

Re: Which Battery Set-up for my M4?
i bought a silly battery its massive! 7.4v 5200mah too big for a PEQ. so i bought a battery bag to strap to the side of the stock. fits well. doesn't really get in the way. and doesn't look that bad. plus had deans fitted. works well and lasts for ages

Thanks for all your guys input, will consider either the PEQ box mentioned by original poster or get a battery bag.
