Hop unit - hop rubber - barrel database
12 September, 2012, 09:25
Because of the many many threads that keep popping up about what's the best internal upgrades to achieve the best range maybe it should be kept in one thread and members should add their input as to what make of gun they have and what upgrades they used to get the needed range?
So have a template such as
Make: TM
Model: M4 cqb
Barrel: XYZ 6.01
Hop: XYZ
Hop unit: XYZ
Other mods: shimmed hop ect
And a description of what it was like stock, what improvements it makes and if there are any FPS variances
If everyone contributes we could build a small database of what's the best way to improve your own gun just by looking through here?
Plus a few people could learn a thing or two

Re: Hop unit - hop rubber - barrel database
Make: Tokyo Marui
Model: Recoil Range, M4 Sopmod CQBR
Barrel: Prometheus 6.03 Tightbore
Hop: Firefly hop rubber with Firefly flat nub
Hop unit: Standard TM Recoil hop
Other mods: Nothing relating directly to the hop unit
FPS is very consistent, 340-343 on .2's.
Range is currently around 60 metes however with the hop fine tuned I think this will be increased.

Re: Hop unit - hop rubber - barrel database
Make: Tokyo Marui
Model: M4 A1 (non recoil)
Barrel: Stock TM barrel electroplated to 6.01
Hop: Madbull Shark (Red coloured one) with X bucking
Hop unit: Standard TM two piece hop
Other mods: None
Despite being in desperate need of a new spring (currently chrono-ing very consistantly at 220+/- 3fps) will happily reach out to 50-55m before starting to fall to the ground (sadly takes an age to travel that distance but travel it, it will)

Re: Hop unit - hop rubber - barrel database
Perhaps not the most useful entry to the DB given that its not exactly a stock gun, but it can always be ignored or deleted...
Make: APS - Yes I know...
Model: ASR-107 - Sort of. Original upper and lower receiver, stock, stock tube and gearbox shell. Replacement 10" barrel, silencer, rail system
Internal modifications - ASG m100 mainspring, Madbull full-teeth piston, otherwise complete ASG ultimate internals...
Barrel: Lonex 407mm (ID-6.03mm) Tightbore
Hop: Madbull blue
Hop unit: Madbull Ultimate
Other mods: Barrel shim mod
Stock perfomance - 380fps +/- 10fps with .2g's - Way too hot!
Current performance - 301fps +/- 1fps with .25g's (Translates to ~340fps with 0.2's)
Range - ~58 metres (not bad)
Accuracy - Genuinely exceptional - Mainly down to the barrel
