CA Sportline models

Cool or not cool?
A buddy of mine is considering getting into the sport, and seems to have his mind set on the CA M16 / Sportline. I don't want him buying a pile of poop, (and I'm aware of the alternatives :P) but some information from the user would be quite handy
Does not speak moron.

Not cool.
I've heard that they're really bad, and flimsy.

Re: CA Sportline models
I have heard otherwise.
Yes they may have flimsy plastic bodies.
However they come with a full classic army gearbox so the internals are pro and the externals arent. I would advise getting on and then replacing the body with a new metal one and your pretty set to go.

Re: CA Sportline models
But with the money spent on a metal body, you may aswell go the full way and get a better gun in the first place hah.

Well, I heard they use cheaper quality gearsets and a cheaper motor

If you want a full metal, realiable MP5 at a decent price, don't forget about ICS.

I have seen the new sportline AUG A1 CQB on a popular airsoft site. Does anyone have any info on this?

Re: CA Sportline models
right, all posts so far have been 'I've heard', so not reliable, third hand info rarely is.
I have a CA sportline M4, bought as the basis as a project L110A1/C8.
it is not flimsy in the slightest, has a good ROF, firing at a site friendly 325 fps.
Its been to a 24 hour Milsim and 2 skirmishes, works fine.
The only thing that i'd change is the inner barrel, as its not that good, but is syill good enough to skirmish with.
As a starter AEG i think it is a good option, with the option to upgrade as you feel fit.

Re: CA Sportline models
Classic Army?
Hit and Miss?
erm.. no.
certainly not the proper ones anyway.
as for the sportline, I wouldnt trust them. I've seen a site owner use one that was planned for rental use, and he split the stock in half on the first game. If he's not on a big enough budget for a proper Classic Army (which are really, REALLY win), then why not look for a second hand one off here, you could probably get a JG or CYMA with some goodies for the same price as a new sportline.
