    Re: M14?

yeah that would be my plan, leave it stock and get more mags and scope, only have the money for the gun at the moment so the extra mags will have to come later.

Cyma do a good M14, I tried one at my mates and it is the most accurate AEG ive ever seen

        Re: M14?

Cyma seem to be improving with their AEG's. Never had first hand experience with them so I cant say for certain.

I have been looking at some G&G M14's... Anyone have any experience with those? Been looking at a "Veteran" M14, comes with a SP120 kit installed and Walnut stock apparently. Cant seem to find much info on them though.

          Re: M14?

          Have finally decided,

TM M14, upgraded to 325-330 FPS with a TK Twist barrel... What do you guys reckon?

Worth it? well with the TK barrel that is..

awesome, consider getting a mossfet switch added for faster single shot trigger pull and you'll have a killer!

Been looking at getting one later on down the line.

One of the lads at my site whom is very technically minded is working on something new with Fet units. So I will see what he can do with them.

Just to let you all know they had this same discussion on Arnies, where a lot of experienced members chipped in.

They concluded that the G&G Veteran was by far the best M14.

Have a look for the thread, should answer all your questions.

                  Re: M14?

I seem to remember a fair few problems with the Veteran M14 out the box aswell though?

If you are going to keep it as a sub 350 fps then go for the TM, if you want 450 fps semi auto only then the G&G veteran is good to go.

Xiosis If you are going for a standard TM M14 socom and Twist barrel (not sure if they actually make them by the way as the M14 barrels are specific to them, an extra grove in them or something like that) I would leave the spring stock, changed mine to a M100 and it made zero difference, just puts a bit more stress on the gearbox I guess.

                    Re: M14?

Wont be the Socom version, not a fan of them

But yeah, I looked into it, they do make them for M14's

Reason I would like to put in a little bigger spring is so I can use .25's or .3's giving that little more stability in winds and a bit more "umph" on impact. While staying on the 325-330 mark for the TK barrel.

                      Re: M14?

After looking into the TK barrel's a bit more, it appears going over the 1J recommended limit, even if using heavier BB's will show a loss of the actual effect of the "Rifling"

So... 330 FPS is the limit, even with heavier ammo... Lean something new every day!

Has anyone got any first hand experience using the TK barrel at all?

                      Cheers, Steve

                        Re: M14?

I won't be getting an M14 now. I tested the TM M14, I think the hop was gone on it to be honest as no matter what I did, I could get it to shoot to the end of a 40m range, it kept dipping.

But that isn't the reason I'm not going to get one, I just didn't feel comfortable holding it when shooting, but sure why but I'm not going to spend £280+ hoping that I will get used to it.

I found it similarly uncomfortable, something that's put me off getting a TM SOCOM

yeah it was the socom that I tested. So I went back to the original plan and have got a JG M733 (full metal with mosfet) as I already have lots of M4 mags, and also a TM MAC10 (I couldn't help myself).

In my opinion of the TK Twist.... don't bother, get a promy barrel instead

If you really want to go the houses, get a soft firefly rubber too!

I've heard one or two bad reviews on the TK barrel.

I fancy having a go myself, see how it fairs.. I will be doing a comparison of the Stock M14 and TK barreld M14. Pictures, videos and all!

                                So watch this space!

Also heard mixed things on the Firefly rubbers... can be iffy if you dont get a good one?

                                Cheers, Steve
