  • Number Of Mags?

ok, i haven't been to a skirmish before....i have just plucked up the courage and the expertise.... and i have a CYMA Glock 18c AEP and an AA L85 AEG. now, i often hear ppl with 12 mags for an AK47 or something and i seem to make do with 2 mags!

    the most i have is 4 hi-cap M4 mags-

well i like my hi-caps cos im lazy... but i have never really used low or mid-caps or the real caps! my glock has the basic mag (29rnds) and i was wondering....

would any of you recommend a number of mags?
    A) wht types of mags (hi/low/med/real) and how many?
    B) do you have any for sale?

good, i thort i wasnt too far out with the M4...but the pistol is annoyingly low with no extra mag...i might just use an FN2000 as a back up...it's not much heavier!

It depends utterly on how you play. I personally don't like hicaps; they rattle, don't feed all the rounds, and winding's a pain. That and the realism factor of having to reload a lot more and watching your ammo consuption adds another aspect to the game that I enjoy. I'm moving off midcaps becuase the double stacked formation found in most midcaps causes feeding issues that I've grown tired of having to fix. So lowcaps it is for me, and I'm planning to be carrying about 10 of them for each gun.

Hicaps dont feed all the rounds? 2 full winds and the mag is completley empty.. You can hear the spring release tension and its completly empty... Well at least for my ICS m4 hicaps

Firstly, ask your site about ammo limits. Some restrict the amount you can carry on you at any one time. Where I usually play, the limit is 600 for all but real world support guns. There are no rules as to how you carry them, but that's it.

Having said that, some place will have you out in the field all day, whereas others (like where I play) tend to go for shorter games.

I use high caps at the moment, but am planning to switch to mids at some point soon. At the weekender, where we could stay out all day is we wanted to, I carried 4 high caps (M4 300rnd) and a spare bag. I don't know how well that would have lasted, because I switched to my gas shotty after the first morning, but think that would have been plenty.

You'll find you use less ammo the more you play. Keep your fire discipline tight, sticking to single shots and SHORT bursts, and you won't look like a noob even though it's your first game.

well my style in a nut shell is:

                A) AIM

                B) BURST FIRE 3-8rnds depending on movement of target. (not inc. suppressive fire)

i can normally make a 600rnd AK mag last a whole day- and im one of the more better players in my group.so lots of kills!

I have to agree with keeper on this one. I have had a number of issues with my mags not feeding/breaking etc and on all occasions it has been my Hi caps that have given up the ghost with the odd midcap doing the same.

For the cost of a box of Lows it is worth it just for the added realism and the mags are cheaper to replace anyway. They normally work out at between 4- quid a shot, so thats the route i am now taking

i have been tempted to go for realism.
but i might have to search the forums for some nice lo-caps.

thanks guys, i will search for my self.:D and try out lo-caps and mid caps i wont bother with, only given me grief with my ex-Dragunov

Not all Hi caps will release all their bb's. You invariably get a dozen or so in the bottom and you can't wind them on.

The innards of Hi caps can be of questionable quality. The cog that feeds the bb's is prone to breaking off so causing hi caps to jam. Low caps have a spring, end of.

Easier and cheaper less likely to break so therefore better value for money, and of course more realistic.

If you do as you say you are in firing 3-8 rds then low caps would be ideal for you.

i know, but i dont play with very many ppl and take my time to get a perfect shot. i like to flank and pop out of random bushes etc! lol...

He meant if you don't go to a site where are you emptying your bbs?

And by "hicaps don't feed all the rounds", I meant that after a full wind and the mag is finished, there are a good 15 or so bbs still in the mags's feed tube.

only assualt rifles i have use armalite mags so i only use 4 mids for the day

shotgun has 11 shells which is under a hicap amount i believe

                              p226 2 standard mags

tm vsr 4 20 round mags

m4 gbbr atm only have the one but going up to four in total on 17th

the reason for four armalite mags for anyone thats seen my loadout i have a 3 mag thigh holster which i prefer over using my vest and obviously one in the gun which works extremly well for the way i normally play

If Carlsberg made Airsoft teams..............They would still get raped by the G.Z.C.F
