i know its not quite your thing but why not get some camo netting?

uk sniper systems ghille is around £40 and its amazing i use it with my scar

It depends what style of play you like, with a big ghillie on you won't be able to run around as easily as normal DPM's ect but it will conceal you a lot better if you are staying still.
You do realise that kit your after wont effect the performance of your gun, if thats the "extra range" you where mentioning?

i think he means that his ics m4 has alright range.
And he doesnt have a sniper.
As for the front end its an SD front with RIS.
Just clearing that up for him.

i'd say yes.
get a stalking style ghillie - ie one that covers your upper half.
they give you more mobility.
