airsoft newbie having problems with a new gun (pt 2)
8 January, 2010, 15:47
sodding guns jammed.
every now and again, in semi-auto, the gun would jam.
the manual says "if it jams on semi-auto, fire a few round on full auto".
the gun has jammed like this about 6 times over a couple of days, but each time switching it to full auto sorted it out.
up until now. it jammed on semi-auto, switched to auto and it jammed on that too. would it be the gears or something? there was a bb in the barrel which i removed with the barrel cleaner thing. but clearing this has made no difference.
all i get when i pull the trigger is a clicking sound, which is the motor trying to move.
the last question i asked was a really stupid one, i'm hoping this is an easy one to answer too!!
any ideas on what i need to do would be really appreciated. i only just got the gun and was having a great time zeroing the sights etc for a skirmish this wknd.

Okay....
What weapon and make?
What type of jam are you talking about?
That motor clicking - try adjusting the motor height. (Google if unsure).

Re: airsoft newbie having problems with a new gun (pt 2)
aah, sorry for not stating the gun.
its a second hand JG G3. its the RIS version, so i don't think they are that old (could be wrong there though).
i took the BB out that was in the barrel. not sure if this was the initial cause.
as i said, the manual gives instructions for clearing a sticking semi-auto miss-fire by switching to full auto for a few rounds.
the gun has done this a few times, but always free'd up again in full auto.
is it something to do with the syncing of the gears?
i'm going to try the gear adjustment allen key at the bottom of the grip.
