  • a question on hop-up and sight zeroing

    hi,

because i didn't know how my hop-up worked i recently boosted the rear mount of my zoom scope.

    my question now is:

should i leave the scope at that angle, and therefore need less hop-up adjustment?

i thought it might be better all round, as more hop-up (according to my manual) seems to have the potential to create more BB jams.

if you tighten it up to tight the hop will stop the bb's from going out thus creating a jam, but it has to be pretty Overhopped for you to do that.. just hopup enough so the bb's fly straight and dont curve up.. tighten the screw and thats fine
otherwise everyone will outrange you. and as you clearly have a scope you will be at the disadvantage having to move into more CQB

See now I know we all start somewhere, hell when I started airsoft I didnt know what hop was, until that was, I followed the manual. The manufacturers put manuals in the box for a reason, they dont make it up to cause your gun to jam. Rule of thumb, if you dont know something, refer to the instructions, if they are truely bad Engrish, then yes advice should be sought.
As a sidenote, I think when people buy AEGs or GBBs or anything with hop, it should be shown (if in store) or at least described over the phone to help new peeps to the sport.
