need eduating on m4

to anyone who knows the answer?
does a 9 inch ris rail fit onto a standard m15a4 carbine? would the outer barrel need changing? or simply remove front site and replace?

Depends on the make of each part and if the front sight is going to be an issue

I think a 7" rail fits standard length m4's, a 9" will be too long so you will need to remove the iron sight.

it is an issue it stops the plastic battery cover at 7". and the ris is 9" plus a delta ring.(whatever that is) does the front site come off?
