  • What is the point of a rubber knife/bayonet?

Is it purely for close range kills so you can do it stealthily? As in not having to say BANG or shoot and expose yourself?

      It's brutal.

Haha, using it in knife kills is brilliant. I've gotten more then quite a few with mine, plus I lob it at people.

yeah some people like to show that they got so close they could have knifed you.
many players like to emulate real combat situations, and that often includes using a knife for stealthy kills. they can also look really cool on your kit.

some players however also use katanas or spoons or forks. i suppose it's a way of bragging about how sneaky you can be and how close you can get. just makes the kills more interesting.

if someone approached me with a spoon though, i'd take my chances and turn for the shot. i appreciate the bang kill, as whoever does it to me has decided not to shoot me point blank. but if he tries to humiliate me with an eating utensil, i'd rather draw my gun and risk getting shot.

i like my rubber combat knife,
sits well in my kit and makes lurking in a bush mid game quite fun. nothing more amusing than waiting for a line of people walking past then creeping out to knife the last man almost never works but its worth a try.

My site doesn't use the bang kill *luckily* so a rubber knife is handy for those extra close sneaky encounters.

Personally, I think they're pointless (no pun intended) apart from taking pics with it on. The sites I play at don't allow 'knife kills' as airsoft is no physical contact. If someone was to poke me with a rubber knife I'd be poking their groin with my boot

                  We are allowed knife kills..

Only a few of us have rubber knifes, but they are a hell of alot of fun when we decide to have "knife only" matches between us.

why cant we all just get along??

its more for the look imo, I have one on my modern loadout, and i'm casting an m7 for my Vn loadout, again, purely for the look, but understandably, with the effort i've put in to getting accurate, period equipment, its only right to finish off the look with a rubber m7!

Its mainly for the look but also i think there is a mentality that when you buy a rubber knife you automatically have that urge to stealth around and prod people with your stabby stabby.

my site allows knife kills, and nothing scares the rentals more than being prodded in the back, an turning around to see a knife :P

If you do that at some sites youll get a screaming kid or even man, who will then unload a high cap into you and then moan at you for not calling your hit
