LiPo battery for a support gun

I have used my LiPo batteries in my RPK for a while now but I've noticed they don't last very long. Am I missing something here? Am I not supposed to use LiPo's in support guns? Are they suited for prolonged bursts of fire?

A decent Lipo should last nearly all day in a support weapon mate. How old are they and what are the battery specs?

As a support gunner, you shouldn't be using prolonged bursts, but anyway...

I used to use a lipo in my 249 and it would last the day easily enough. Apart from the battery specs, and Andrew rightly asks, just how many BBs are you putting through the thing?

I use 800mAh 11.1 LiPo's in my M4 and they will last around 1500 - 2000 bb's before needing a change. My SL9 uses a 2800mAh 11.1 and I have yet to change it during a single day though I imagine I could get over 7000 bb's out of it though I seriously doubt that will happen in a regular skirmish.

800 mah means the battery will supply 800 miliamps of current for 1 hour then its dead if your gun draws 1600 ma (1.6 amps) then it will die in 30 minutes

the 2800 mah battery will supply 2800 ma (2.8 amps) for an hour

long story short the higher the mah rating the longer the battery will last

I was just wondering if LiPo's are more susceptible to running low if used for long bursts as I heard they are meant for quick short burst. My batteries are 1200mah 7.4v 15c and my mag holds 2500 and I went through a full mag in about 10 mins then went to mids and it was low after 4 mids. They are 2 years old but I balance and charge for storage after every use.

li-po's are not designed for long bursts, but li-fe's are more suited for it. but for propper support fire its 5-6 round bursts with a few seconds pause. i use a support weapon and find that short controlled bursts work just as well and in some cases gets you more kills. this is because you stop for a few seconds so they go to stick their head up, just to find 5-6 more rounds incoming and hit them nicely on the head

But this was a field in the middle of Wales and it was windy so u had to hold the trigger and watch the wind send my stream of bbs all over until it drops and for a split second they go in the direction the barrel is pointing.

Ok well I thought you were new to LiPo's but if they are 2 years old then by now you should have a goodd iea of how long they last and how long you can shoot in bursts. If the perfomance has dropped dramatically in the lat gme or two then they are probably on their way out.
