Scopes and Mounts - Ideas please.
5 January, 2013, 14:02
Hi guys,
I've been browsing the forums for around a year and this is my first post.
I've been playing airsoft for as long and have just bought my first NEW gun, I picked up the G&G GR15 Raider with along with some accessories.
One of which is the G+P Red dot sight. After putting it all together I've noticed that the sight sits too low, its nearly flush with the rail which makes it impossible to view through. Along with this because the front post can't be removed this would block the sight a bit too.
Are there ways of sitting the sight on top of something or a mount that will raise it a bit ?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
RRD.

Re: Scopes and Mounts - Ideas please.
It's called a "riser" mount, it's essentially a rail mounted rail. Also, if it's the same G&P red dot as on Zero One, It may well fit an M3/M2 aimpoint mount which I think it's a clone of.

Having been down the whole riser-rail route aeons ago i'd say one thing: dont bother. Just get a replacement mount thats higher, and there are two reasons why. The first is that by adding a riser you're making things more complex than they need be, the second is that it adds weight.

Re: Scopes and Mounts - Ideas please.
if you have had this problem yourself have you any recommendations for higher mounts ?
I was wrong it wasn't the G+P Red dot, its the basic NCS one, think I had G+P in my head as the G&G box is right in front of me
Thanks for all your thoughts so far!

Can you find a photo of it? If we know the exact model then it's easier to recomment and alternate mount.

Buggers my theory then. I thought it would be one of the 30mm tubed Aimpoint-a-like red dots. Scope riser is going to be the only way then...
