6 January, 2013, 00:12
from what i can gather and please correct me if am wrong the voltage affects the rate of fire and the mAh is somthing to do with how long the battery will last is this correct?
if it is correct how do you work out how long it will last for example how would i work out how long a 1600mah battery would last after a full charge? am sure there is somthing simple am missing

Re: battery info help
its something along the lines of 2bb's for every Mah (somone will confrim or correct me on this)
but its effected by things such as using semi only (draws more amps than full auto)
if you play in woodland and pick your shots, you could probably get a full day out of that batt.
f its cqb semi only madness you play in, half day at most more likely.
(above all based on the batt being a nimh)

Re: battery info help
I play indoor and the game nights last for 3 hours so one battery should last me the whole time then?
i have also read that lipo are better than all the other battery do you know if they mean they last longer or it they mean more powerful as i have seen them at 11.1v.
also is it possible to burn out the motor by using a too high voltage battery?
sorry for all the questions its just i have spent the last few nights learning every thing i can about the internals and the last thing i need to work out is the battery
I think i may come addicted to building the guns more than using them there is just so much to pick from

Re: battery info help
For a 3 hour game one battery will see you through no problem.
For indoor lipos should give you better trigger response which i think would certainly be a benefit.
Past that my experience with lipos is fairly limited.
Im sure more experienced people, regards internals and lipos, on here can answer your other questions.
Cheers.

Re: Battery info help
i personally ran lipos in all my guns (dont have any now, but when i do, lipo all the way!).
You dont need an 11.1v though.... ive used them and they are pointless, unless you really like wasting ammo.
something like a 2000mah 7.4v 20c lipo will give you the same performance (rof) as a 9.6v nihm, due to the discharge rate. itll also be a smaller formfactor, so good if you have a small gun (no pun intended
)

Re: Battery info help
LiFe are only really suited to guns that can handle them (80% of guns stock can) but are fantastic and dont have any problems with them going into meltdown

Re: Battery info help
you say 80% of stock guns can handle them is there a way to tell if a gun is compatible its just that am looking to get my first rifle in the next few days from the classifed section on this site as am sick of using faulty rentals and don't want to make any mistakes and mess everything up and have to buy loads of parts to fix it
