External differences between the RPK and the RPK-74
21 January, 2013, 00:01
Hello,
Im going to be buying myself a Cyma RPK-74, and hoping to convert it to an RPK, assuming it wont cost too much, as I only have 47 mags. Ive looked online and everything looks identical between the 2 apart from the scope mount on the side of the body, and obviously the magazine. Am I correct in thinking this?
If not, do let me know. Any constructive advice would be sorely appreciated
.

Not sure on these but I THINK you can buy an AK scope rail for it and the mags are compatible in airsoft.

Re: External differences between the RPK and the RPK-74
In real life they are externally similar except for the pistol grip and hand guards (giant ass pictures so you can look mega close):
RPK
RPK-74
In airsoft terms, you can buy AK-74 side mounts and fit them onto AK-47's with modification or buy specific AK-47 mounts. AK-47 and 74 mags are compatible etc.

The Cyma RPK comes with the scope mount rail on the side:
I got mine just before xmas last year and I love it, the only thing that had to be done was change the spring as it came in firing over 400FPS :/
