M4 cylinder head
26 January, 2013, 23:52
This might sound odd but what size head does an ics cylinder head have (long or short)
as I'm looking at the shs cylinder heads and they have the option for long or short

Another stupid question but I'm unsure.
If I get an anti reversal latch
How would I decompress the spring
Shoot once on semi?

Re: M4 cylinder head
Do you not have the split gear box? They have a release catch before splitting the gear box from what I remember.

Re: M4 cylinder head
ICS have a custom anti reverse latch. All you do is press the forward assist to release the spring tension. You can use a standard ARL but you would loose this feature.

Re: M4 cylinder head
The whole point of having the forward assist is to release the tension between piston and sector gear before you split the receiver.
You don't have to have it but unless you intend to build a rof monster I would keep it.

Another question
Does it matter what type of glue you use to fit sorbo onto the piston head and the cylinder head

Re: M4 cylinder head
Yes..... Needs to be....Cyanoacrylate.
There are other types that I think will be ok, but it seems to be something like loctite Super Glue ultra gel works very well.
Make sure you rough up the surfaces before bonding them together.

The cylinder head I bought has a thin sorbo
Should I replace it and install a thicker one, or glue the thicker one onto the thinner

Re: M4 cylinder head
Remove it, clean the glue off, sand when clean with fine paper p500 ish. Glue new one on then set angle of alignment for piston to gear teeth. PM'd you a link
