Why does it have to be full metal?

Best thing is to pop to a local shop (if you have one near buy) and get to handle a few. You could find that you really like the look of one but it just doesn't fit right in your hand.

If you don't have a local shop speak to players when on your local site, they may let you hold and test the pistols that they have.

I personally would recommend a TM Hicapa 4.3, I have had two and never had a issue with either of them. But some of the newer WE models are supposed to be very good as well.

Full metal doesnt mean better pistol. Tokyo Marui pistols are some of the best best pistols you can buy on the market today. Their polymer bodies and slides mean that the blowback on them is very, very good, even in colder conditions. A lighter slide means it requires less gas to cycle, and thus, you will get better gas efficiency/consumption compared to a pistol with a heavier, metal slide.

I would also highly recommend KWA pistols. They may cost a little more than some other makes, but their NS2 gas system is nothing short of brilliant in my view. They do work in the colder weather as well, albeit with some side effects, but that isnt anything to do with them, its to do with the laws of gasses and colder weather. Dont expect miracles in the middle of December!!

Connecting a light is simple if the gun has a 20mm rail. Some pistols dont have a rail at all, but you can buy an adaptor to allow you to attach lights/lasers and such. The H&K USP has a proprietary rail on them. Some lights are made specifically for them, but these are almost always real steel products and will cost. You can again get an adaptor to change it to a normal 20mm rail.

Silencers, you will need a pistol with a threaded outer barrel. Some models of pistols (USPs, M9s, some 1911's) and such will come in multiple models, usually the 'Tactical' version has a threaded barrel.

Look at the availability of spare magazines as well. Some models of pistol are very hard to get spare mags for (im thinking KWA M226 here...) and they are on the pricey side. Not always good if you have a pistol with only 1 magazine!

In short, dont discount TM pistols just as they are not full metal, look at KWA. Ive had bad experiences with WE, but people have said their newer models have much improved. I cannot comment on those.

There are quite a few places with the M226 magazines now. Albeit a slightly higher price from over a year ago when i first got mine.

            Here we go again...

Try a few out - at shops or at skirmishes, when people ask if they can have a go I let them with my gear, as do a lot of people at my local sites. In fact, I have been known to offer a play with my glock when people give it envious looks.

            Then buy what you like.

I'm gonna just go out and say KWA Glock 17, they're readily available, they have a metal slide, feel nice, perform well and parts are easy to get as well as mags.
I'm guessing he wants metal for realism and weight.

OP ask's for FULL METAL gets recommended a TM. *Facepalm*

Pretty much anything from KWA is good just make sure it is NS2
Some of KJW's pistols are superb, 1911,Glock 27 (Just a couple that i have owned) The Beretta's are nice but a very dated design now (Fixed hop up)
WE's newer stuff is supposed to be really good, Generally people avoid any of the WE 1911 family though

I also think the KWA/ASG Glock 17 is a good suggestion only the slide is metal but thats just like the real thing, Can fit lights/lasers to rail and you wont have any problem finding a good holster for them, magazines can be had cheap if you look towards China shops

Because hop rubbers and gas seals are better when they are metal.... They last longer or something
