I know this sounds daft but are you sure you have the right PTT for it?

I have an XTNiD and all the PTT headsets I've used for it have been plug in and play.

                Re: Motorola XTNID help help

Could be something is faulty then - are you sure that
                a) the headset sockets work ok?
                b) the headset itself works ok?

Shouldn't have any issues with a standard PTT unit like that

I'd see if you can borrow a mates headset and radio and change the bits round till you find out where the fault comes from.
