Another newbie Q
19 February, 2010, 02:10
Hey sorry to do this to you guys but you are the experts!
I am looking to purchase a set up so what would you guys recomend if I said the budget is £150-200 for a primary and a back up what would you suggest?
For the primary I want bullpop/modern not m4/m16/ak etc
thanks!

Re: Another newbie Q
Well with that limited budget your best bet would be to buy second hand, get yourself a chinese clone bullpup, so FN2000 or Army Sa80
You should be able to pick one up on here for around £120-£140 max, that then leaves you the rest for a side arm!
Hope this helps

Re: Another newbie Q
I agree with the above had a FN2000 as my forst weapon lovely bit of kit, the JG AUG is also highly rated as a bullpup.
Second hand is definatly the way to go with a budget like that. You should be able to find some abserlute gems if you look about.

Re: Another newbie Q
That will get you a cheapish chinasoft rifle for about 90 and a sidearm for 60 you will get more choice in sidearms for that budget than you will for a decent secondhand main. Alternatively look at the classic arms Sportline equipment you will get a brand new branded gun and still leave around 60/70 quid for a sidearm try an site that has armoury in its name with airsoft at the front they are doing good deals on sportline guns atm

Does your budget need to include battery and mags?

Re: Another newbie Q
Alternativly you could spend the £200 on a primery see what you then need in a side arm and buy the side arm later on. This way you get as good a primery as your budjet will allow and give you some more time to shop around for a side arm.

Re: Another newbie Q
thank you all for your replies! the budget isn't set in stone but I was trying to see what I would be looking at getting in worst situation. I'm not looking for full pro lasting stuff as I am no pro! Second hand is my route that is for sure. For when I do get a sidearm I was looking at gas blowback for that real gun feel but they don't seem well liked am I better with an AEP?

Re: Another newbie Q
Are you kidding GBB will always put a smile on your face, every shot you can hold me to that. AEP's work all year round but I just got rid of a GBB that worked flawlessly in the snow on the gas I run it off all year round. If you want that real gun feel then GBB is the way to go. If you want a reliable weapon all year round then get an AEP.

Re: Another newbie Q
Not being funny boss its probably best to spend the money on your primery and what ever is left over put towards your side arm, you need to think about what youll be using the most. I just got rid of a KSC 1911 system 7. Got to say one of the best pistols I ever shot with. If you want any more details ect then your more than welcome to PM me.

Re: Another newbie Q
if you get the jg aug get the one without lots of rails. (its dreadfully front heavy.)
But gbb is great if a little unreliable at times. Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face then putting the entire mag downrange. (i have a G18). It just makes your day.
