double feeding / burst fire on semi
11 June, 2013, 17:26
Trying out my new G&G tr4, and it seems to double feed on semi, and fires fully automatic? Happens every so often, not all the time.
any ideas what it could be?
edit - Mod please move to tech help

could it be the blasters I'm using? they were fine in my ICS, or even the magazines?

forgot to mention aswell, Whilst firing on semi, the trigger jammed and I could no longer fire, switched to full auto and it un-jammed itself and was fine..?

Is it a brand new gun?

Re: double feeding / burst fire on semi
It's most likely an issue with the AR latch. Opening up the gearbox voids the warranty. So send it back

Straight back. Retailer will probably offer to repair it which is reasonable, although if I were you I'd stick my heels in an ask for a replacement or refund.
Don't open it or fiddle at all. That's the advantage of buying new, warranty.

Don't touch it, take it and the magazine/bbs you're using back to the shop. Get them to fix it

Thanks for the replies, just tried using the G&G hi cap it came with, and some zero one .20's and all seems okay.. No double feeding nothing...?

Re: double feeding / burst fire on semi
Hello, literally had this problem a week ago, and posted this question on the high rate of fire thread as I'd just upgraded and hit 22rps so I thought those boffins could help me. Turns out it was my spring, I have an originally fairly strong but cut down spring and now with my upgraded motor it was sometimes firing twice on semi and locking up and stuff, same as yours, turns out this is called "over-running" or something where the cut off lever has stopped the motor but the gears momentum vs a now weak spring allowed it to fire twice. I just ordered a relatively cheap m90 spring that is considerably longer but not too powerful and the problems solved, hope that helps

Re: double feeding / burst fire on semi
Send it back - jamming on semi is a recognised problem with AEG gearboxes though - that's not a fault as such.

Had the same with my GR10, got worse with time... it was the tapet plate originally, so sent it back and got it fixed, as good as new now
