Could I have been had by an airsoft retailer?

Hello all.

I've bought a 16 inch outter barrel for my WE from a UK airsoft online retailer. It's been 5 days now and I haven't recieved any confirmation email from them, only the one from Paypal to confirm my payment. They also haven't updated the delivery status on Paypal, nor have they replied to my email.

Obviously if I have been had, I should have no problems claiming, but do you think I could have been? Or is it just bad customer service? Should I be starting to worry now or give it another week?

Obviously the question is quite vague, but then obviously I'm not allowed to mention the name of said retailer.

Any advice appreciated!

I would suggest giving them a call, depends on which one it is but there is a chance it has fallen between the cracks or their admin isn't up to scratch but a follow up phone call should be enough.

As above, if no contact can be made by Monday I would file a dispute with PayPal. Mistakes happen, but every now and then it isn't a mistake!

phone first ,everyone makes mistakes ,its what happens after that that defines good or bad customer service.

There are known retailers who are being allowed to get away with this because we can't name them...facebook covers this

Well this retailers name has a very famous and decorated regiment in the name, followed by a number!

As far as I know there's only one outright scam in the UK airsoft business (I'll give you a hint - it's initials are the name of the most famous UKSF Regiment) but I don't think anyone's ill-informed enough to order from that useless bastard these days.

Yeah I've heard about them. Fortunately if isnt them.

The shop I've ordered from has a Facebook page as well so I may try and contact them via that.

I'd be surprised if they did since I know that at one stage some other uk airsoft computer based message boards made a point of making the first google result for said shop the "I got scammed by ..." thread.

I placed my first order for some TM recoil upgrade parts from a specialist retailer and paid via paypal. All went through ok but heard nothing. So a week later, I emailed them with a copy of the paypal transaction and they replied (on a Sunday) that on their side the transaction was showing as pending but was now completed. I received my parts two days later (being posted on a Monday and receiving on Tuesday).
All is not lost for you though.

Have started a PayPal claim which they are failing to reply to, so I can only assume they are no longer operating as a shop!

It's a real shame that we aren't allowed to name retailers here. We could set up a sticky thread listing all the untrustworthy airsoft retailers out there.

Have you actually phoned them (or tried to) ? If their emails are not being routed properly - which would include PayPal notifications - they wont probably know unless people tell them...
