AEG SMG Advice

Hi all,

I am currently looking at a secondary gun and have it narrowed down to 2.

One is the TM MP7A1 AEG and the other is the G&G UMP.

Size wise i would prefer the MP7 but have read quite a lot of mixed reviews and just want some opinions.

I love the UMP but the only thing that puts me off about it is the fact it is still quite a big gun and the mags are massive.

I would like to avoid a GBB because with our crappy weather its not really worth it otherwise i would go for a GBB MP7 or MP9.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have the G&G UMG and its a good, solid gun that'll serve you well in both woods and CQB should your primary fail.

The mags are pretty big, but that's not too much of an issue for me, however the biggest niggle I have is that for a SMG the stock feels about an inch too long. The overall length with the stock extended isn't far off a 10.5in barrelled M4 derivative. It is however extremely light as AEGs go and its become my 'afternoon' gun when my arms are getting tired from lugging around my rather heavy main gun.

What's it going to be used for? For example, is it a sniper backup, something for CQB or just a secondary AEG for woodland?

MP7/9's work fine in the cold if you arent too trigger happy.
there's also things like MP5s?

Indeed, if you're after a compact AEG as a backup, the MP5K is always worth a look.

Mixture of outdoor and CQB.

Getting parts for them was the main thing people were saying. But in my mind it being a TM wouldn't need much to fix anyway...

Good thing about the MP5K is the gearbox internals are V3 compatible, so fitting a new spring to up the FPS (for example) is easy enough.

As far as airsoft is concerned, the UMP/G is far more capable.

The g&g ump is now up to gen 2 spec , 6.03 tightbore , high torque motor , green hop rubber and heavier guage wiring distinguish it from the gen 1 version . In both versions it is a very accurate , good ranging smg . Hunt down the classic army 100 round mids and it is an awesome skirmish weopon , the standard g&g mags are 50 round or 500 in high cap form . The internals and externals are extremely strong and reliable . The optional silencer actually works and makes it a very good stealth weopon .
Also worth a look is the mp5k PDw version a very underrated cqb / urban gun ..
