You can buy thread adapters about £15 if that would work

yellow pages brother, look for a local engineering company to yourself, give em a call and ask if they can do it, job will take them 2 mins, no harm in asking!

Heinz recently did my AK for a very reasonable fee. And he did a great job too. I don't know how available he is or whether he's willing to do it, but it may be worth PMing him.

I need it cut to 10" as im going for the L119A1 look.

@maddog, i have tried that and to be honest none of the 6 or 7 people i have rang seem interested. Some taking my details and say they will call dont call.

Of course they won't - it's like asking a building materials supplier for a brick, or enough sand to build a sand castle. They'll want north of 100 quid for a job that small.

I can vouch for Heinz, he did some machining work on a steel muzzle brake of mine that was top quality.

This may not be of use as you want a re machine job! however... I have a cnc milling machine/router and if by any chance you are into CAD,? you do the design and I will machine it for you. I am trying to learn it all in small steps and as I say would be more than willing.

Deal would be... You supply the billet, and the CAD/CAM file and I will return you the finished barrel.
I live in the new forest so unfortunately a little far away from Wales.

A 3 axis CNC mill won't be any use to shorten and thread an outer barrel. It's a lathe job, pure and simple.
