Ares AW338 CNC version has the best externals...and the folding stock...

Tanaka best upgrade option for a gas version...

TM, Maruzen and Right Hook Fabrication all have L96 type rifles.

My mate's got the TM AWS (L96) and its stunning. Only running at stock at the moment, but with the hop adjusted and .2 bbs, it reaches only just short of the end of the GZW range, with a near-flat trajectory. I highly recommend it.

I'd reckon the warrior L96, the one with the round ball on the end of the cocking handle, I had one once and it was so powerful and very accurate.

if after a decent one stock

buy Warrior

450+ fps out the box ,

50m range ,

6.04 tb barrel ( rather 6.06 ) of aw.338

or if have money get the maruzen and slowly upgrade as i have done to mine and aribos'
and very accurate and nice fps

Aw.338 - ok stock need few parts upgraded to make it really nice consistantly
Maruzen L96- not too bad stock , 6.05 barrel bit of let down , hop a pain ( replace hop rubber ) to make skirmishable for a sniper rifle
Warrior MkII L96 - nice gun stock , nice hop once adjusted and set nice range and feel.
Tm L96 - it ok stock low fps , ok range of 45-50m , few upgrades needed to contend with above sniper rifles

TM + TK Twist = Win?

I used to have a Tanaka AICS, I'm not a fan of Gas and would suggest a spring one.

Personally I would go for a TM.

Thats the main question though. There are 2 types Gas or a spring. I have the TM and the Warrior. TM is the better by far, Lower fps but more accurate and better internals.

Really easy hop adjustment. It is just a little switch on the underside of the stock. I think my Hop rubber may need replacing though as I don't seem to get the range that people say you get with it.

My Ares DSR gets around 3 times the range of it. I certainly don't get an aegs range so it isnt really skirmishable out of the box imo
