Re: ares or ics SA80
well G&G is deffo the most realistic i know cos i mate i know has a real steel and its just so like it everything down to the gas parts and bolt also the colours are most like the real
or if you want to pick between these then it will be ares i reckon but thats my opinion

Re: ares or ics SA80
ics ftw!!!!
more accurate out the box, gearbox is a piece of p**s to work on, spring change i under a minute and three different fps settings
comes as standard with ALL the a2 upgrade parts
ics reliability
takes standard large batts in the foregrip

At which point I would mount my ride, which is a donkey called Akbar, and charge off into the enemy, lighting the grenades as I go

Re: ares or ics SA80
TBH I would go with the ICS. But if you want a G&G you might as well go for the much much cheaper Army as thats a straight clone and in fairness lasts ages for peanuts.

Re: ares or ics SA80
depends on what your after really ,
looks and feel - G+G best rep on market so far
performance - a mix , ice for range , but G+G for internal sterdiness
cheap alternative is ARMY ARMEMENTS R85A1, a few mods, ( spur gear, 10mm spacer with new piston and new madbull hop up rubber ) and it will contend with the big boys for half the price

Re: ares or ics SA80
I'd love to see a detailed external comparison between the real thing, the ICS, the Star/ARES and the G&G. Which one is most accurate?

Re: ares or ics SA80
I'd like to know how the manafacutrers make RIFS so realistic, especially when emulating complex guns like the L85...
But the STAR is identical panoptes, from a few meters away they're exactly the same. I agree though, a detailed comparison would be interesting.
But as far as I can remember, they're identical.

Re: ares or ics SA80
They get a hold of de-cats or the real thing using scale drawings and photographs as well.

I know - and that counts for a lot in my book.
