  • Tanaka M500 ammo

    Hi guys,

I have recently acquired a Tanaka M500 and was wondering what ammo weight would be the best for it.

I've tested it out with .20g's there were flyers all over the shop, I just don't know whether .36g's would be too heavy.

I don't use anything below .25s in my Tanakas for best results. The larger ones have adjustable hop ups so make sure you play with that a bit too. I would turn it all the way off, and slowly engage it, firing a shot with each adjustment, until it's just right - they are tricky to get shooting consistently, but mine shoot well now with .25s. As for maximum weight, the M500s have a lot of power so heavy BBs shouldn't be a problem, although I'd think .30g would be enough.

They need the heavy stuff. Firing anything lighter than 0.28 IMO is pointless!
