Go for Zero One Pro Gas or Abbey Ultra (Same thing). TM P226s are easily tough enough for it. 144a/134a is a weak gas, made even weaker by our climate.

It's the plastic pistol though? Are you sure the tip slide won't break?

I am 100% sure the slide won't break. If it does, I will source and buy you a new one
Most TMs are a lot more solid than people think. I had my P226E2 since it was released until a few months back, and used Abbey Ultra all year. They are perfectly robust, even Green Gas/Propane is fine. The same goes for the PX4, XDM, 1911s, M9A1 and some others. The only designs I really worry about are the Glocks which can get damaged when it's hot (Ultra is still ok most of the time though) and the FN57, which is just a bad design.
I don't know any TM 226 owners that use 144a. It's just boring and our climate makes it even worse. Using Abbey Ultra/Pro Gas here is pretty much the same as using 134a/144a in Japan where the gas is more potent due to the climate.
