Sig P229 in a P226 IMI holster?

Hi guys,

I have an IMI P226 retention holster at the moment but I am thinking of getting a subcompact P229. Will it fit or at least retain it as it should?

Talking from a WE point of view, P229 won't P228 will.

My own holster is an IMI P226 holster and my WE P228 fits it perfectly, but my P229 when I had it wouldn't go in at all.

What exactly is the difference between the P229 and P228? They look identical to me.

As IMI lock into the trigger guard, must be slightly taller/wider there

Slightly wider slide and the lower portion that is "raised" shall we say is in a slightly different position.

I have a tm p226 and a kjw p229 and both fit in my real imi 226 holster the p229 is a slightly tighter fit but still able to draw it easily enough if that helps ? Pm me if you want some pics of them in the holster ?

Leaky mags though around the base seal. :/

I use tm p226 mags with mine they stick out a wee bit but still work as they should

I punted for the P228 specific WE mags, they fit nice in the gun but they leak occasionally, not sure if the WE P226 mags suffer the same issue.

Funnily enough my WE P228 is the longest owned of any of my RIFs :D
Love mine, and my mag leaked like a sieve too, until I instant gasketed the life out of it.
