More battery advice - Vapex or Intellect. Any difference?
5 April, 2010, 16:54
Just bought an M4 and need to get a mini battery for it. I'm opting for a 9.6v over an 8.4 and I'm just wondering what the difference (if any) there is between a Vapex and a (more expensive) Intellect battery.
Cheers.

I have at least one of both and can't really see any difference between them. But my mini intellect 9.6 1600mah will run my LR300 for a full day and then some. And I tend to be aggressive with that little thing.

Just seriously excellent batteries at a very good price. Made in the UK i believe. Availible dirt cheap from a shop selling components.

Have Intellects and Vapex and I'd never buy Intellect Ni-Mhs again, they've all died while my Vapex batteries are fine

Re: More battery advice - Vapex or Intellect. Any difference?
Ok I'm going to put a slightly one sided arguement in.
I have owned tornado batteries (3900mAh Large 8.4v), which crapped out just over a years worth of good use, and 1 G&P 8.4v- put a multimeter to it and saw the voltage was way down on what it should have been. My intellect is pushing 2 years old and it still seems to function very well. RoF that I get for a 9.6v Intellect mini 1400mah is a massive step up from 8.4v
If you have a tight fit for batteries, intellect batteries have slightly larger cells than G&P (just for reference) when put along side each other and plastic end caps which meant I had to dremel my mp5 hand grip to fit one in.
Hopefully this has been a bit more insightful than simply "my brand of battery is amazing"
On a more serious note, intellect use better parts (which is why they are more expensive), so expect a longer lifespan out of them.
I have no experience with vapex so I am not comparing them to the intellect.
I can say that intellect
are
above at least 2 other brands I have experienced, and I think they're worth the money considering what I spent on the G&P and tornado batteries.
