Modding an SRC m4a1
13 April, 2010, 15:35
I have made up my mind on what my second gun is going to be and instead of an M14 I think I will get an m4. However I wanted to get the foregrip to be RIS without having to rewire the battery or use a battery box so would I be able to do this? Also should I add a tightbore to it or does it already come with one. And finally what other upgrades do you think I should put on it, keep in mind I will mostly be using it for woodland and maybe a little bit for CQB. However also keep in mind Im terrible and do things to the gun my self so Id have to get it all done before I order it apart from the obvious additions like scopes and silencers.

Use a crane stock for the battery?

Re: Modding an SRC m4a1
It will need to be rear wired. If it's already a RIS/CQBR model then it most likely will be, and it will most likely be using a crane stock as UP said. Your alternatives to a crane stock are a batter sling, or if it's large enough, a lipo that fits in the stock tube

Ok I take it the SRC M4A1 has the battery compartment in the foregrip?

Even if you use a stock with battery space I think you might have to take apart the receiver, opening the gearbox to make the wires that went to foregrip go to the stock.

Re: Modding an SRC m4a1
Why not just get the M4 SR-16 as it already comes with RIS and a crane stock, or the M4 Tactical Carbine which has a metal body?

Ok I was looking at the JG m4 s system as well but could you recommend a good brand version of those guns for around £120?
