ICS MP5 Tune-up?
19 April, 2010, 20:18
Hello one and all, I'm not sure how much of this is going to get censord but here goes..
I have purchased an ICS MP5 with folding stock and laser foregrip, the internals in it stock are not as good as i would have hoped but perform ok, i am looking to get a 'Full Systema Tune-up Kit from Zero one airsoft and get them to install it for me, about 200 quids worth of work i think?
My question is, is it worth spending that much money on that particular kit or is there somthing more cost effective i can do to increase ROF, Accuracy and overall performance?
Ta Dan.

Re: ICS MP5 Tune-up?
Oh dear no, lol.
Out of that kit, what worth having....
- Gears
That's about it, lol.
ROF: G&P M120 motor and/or 9.6v battery.
Accuracy: Madbull 6.03 tightbore.
Range: Guarder, Systema or TM hop bucking and H nub.
You don't really need the new gears unless you going a bit insane on the upgrades. But that kit along will add nothing to the gun, only toughen it up to put in upgrades.

Re: ICS MP5 Tune-up?
so i could make that gun the balls for under 100 quid? excellent news.
So if i put say, the tightbore, get the stock changed to a full stock to house a nice large 9.6 and a new motor (ICS motors have a bad reputation for burning out a little bird told me).

Re: ICS MP5 Tune-up?
you dont necessarily need to put a full stock and large battery, a larger batt, just makes the motor turn faster and lasts longer,is it worth the extra weight of the gun,and the asthetic difference of a full stock compared to sliding, if you want a faster rate add a turbo motor, for example systema (recommended) or guarder high revolution, the same as a systema but cheaper and carry a spare battery or switch to smaller li-po for insane rates of fire and battery life (not recommended until you have a bit more experience)
the tight bore and improved hop will increase accuracy and range and raise fps by about no more than 10-15 feet per second

Re: ICS MP5 Tune-up?
i got a systema energy gearbox for mine, and the whole thing was well under £200, plus its apparently great to work on, doesnt spring apart like everything else.
thought I would add, a large 9.6v doesnt fit in an mp5 stock (or at least my 4300mah one doesnt ... could be larger due to the capacity though, but it sticks out a fair bit).
also, look into getting a 3round burst mosfet to go true mp5 fan
deans connectors are supposed to be the way to go as well.
