Internal Upgrades

I've been airsofting for a little while now and I feel that my gun could use a performance upgrade. What parts of the gun should I upgrade? Can you give me some mid/high range examples?

Gearbox, Hop-up + barrel?

Related note: Friend of a friend has an near mint unneeded G&G v2 Gearbox from his G&G GR-16. How good are they and how much are they worth?

If it's one that has blowback, it won't fit a standard body. And they are cheap so i wouldn't buy one for an upgrade project. CA/G&P good for a starter upgrade

why does your gun need a performance upgrade? you havent even said what gun it is... but i'm guessing its an armalite?

Seriously, whats wrong with it? range poor? crap rate of fire? low fps? for each "problem" you could write for hours on what to buy.
