Shipping from Hong Kong
19 December, 2014, 09:25
My rifle has turned up in the UK from Hong Kong and is currently at the status of 'Pending Customs Inspection'
Does anyone know if there is a way of speeding this up at all?
Cheers,
Tal

Nope, you just have to wait for a letter to come through.

Re: Shipping from Hong Kong
I give them a call when it gets there. If you speak nicely they can usually go through the UKARA details with you over the phone which does speed things along if they have a busy time (which I bet it is now), but they seem to have one phone line that you have to keep trying on (once it took me 2 days of trying every time I had a spare moment). Will PM you the number. I've done 3 RIFs from abroad this year all run smoothly.
Bear in mind that after its released from UKBA, its then passed to Customs for tax/duty which seems to be 2-3 days that can't be speeded up (to my knowledge, give me some tips if you know them boys), and then in the hands of parcelfarce, who are always the most annoying link in the chain: their alleged Express48 service taking a week on my last import.
