  • Who makes good metal AEG around £200?

Looking at what is good manufacturer for metal body AEG can anyone let me know what ones to look at and what ones to avoid.
I know metal not always good and some times you get really cheap pot metal on some guns.
I just don't what ones have good quality metal.

From what I have read myself the cmya and ICS are ok?
I think cmya come with batteries as well?

The type of AEGs I looking are ak types ,mp5,sig 522, and m14.
Looking to get one of them in metal for around £200

Thank you for any advice & information.

Well, you won't get a metal bodied M14 for £200...

Are you looking for new or 2nd hand?

Pretty sure CYMA M14's can be had for under £200, but you will probably struggle to find an EBR for under that. CYMA AK's are normally under £200 and are well worth the money, and come with a battery ect, however Id pick up more batteries...they arn't great. They also make MP5 varients.

Normal M14s can be had, but they're not metal bodied and you may struggle with a metal bodied 552 unless you go second hand

As for AK's, it's widely regarded that CYMA make the best AK on a budget

            Thanks all.

If I go AK then CYMA for sure it looks nice.

I know I never said m4 as I did not see any I liked until I seen this one.

I know it's gas but I would buy the AEG version for around the same price I have seen.
It has metal body but I don't how good G&G metal m4's are?

            Thank you.

G&G in polymer or metal are both pretty good guns. You may find base model G&P M4's around that price as well.

Cheeky plug but I have a metal mp5 in your budget with extra for batteries and mags too?

CYMA guns are solid, I've not had a single hiccup with any of them over 5 years of playing with them.

M4s you're gonna be looking at budget guns like JG

Have a look at the new gen Jing Gong Sigs with electric blowback. Full metal bodies, gen 3 metal gearboxes, and a very satisfying blowback, and can be had for under £200. And they really are excellent. I got one as a back up and ended up using it as my go to gun for a good few skirmishes.

Cyma M14s are also worth considering which, whilst having abs stocks, are full metal in the sense that everything that's metal on the RS variant is also metal.

@Boo-Sabum Ben. Thank you buy I really would like something new this time round thanks.

@coski. That Jing Gong Sig looks very nice and very tempted to get that:D Could I ask you some questions about it as you have one :D

                    (1) What sort of metal is used on the gun steel?
                    (2) What other manufacturer magazines work with the JG sig?
                    (3) Does it come with batteries + charger and are they any good?
                    (4) How easy is it to get replacement parts if something breaks.

I don't know anything about aegs and what parts inside the guns are universal or not.
I got a TM glock for the fact I can get parts easy in the uk and HK if anything needed fixing later and I stayed anyway from KWA as I think you need to order from USA shop only?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Re: Who makes good metal AEG around £200?

                      Hey bud.

I don't have it anymore as don't play so much to cut down to only a couple of gats, but happy to answer them.

Metal used I'm afraid to say is definately pot metal, but it does the job fine. Was a very solid gun. Only criticism I would have is that the plastic used on the stock is a little shiny at first.

Honestly bud I just used JG hi caps so never tried anything else, but I would assume any TM or clone mags would work as the jing gong is a clone. Or the older JG models were anyway.

I bought mine second hand so don't know that question but nah website will say in the description. If they do, I wouldn't reccomend using then though as they don't tend to be very good.

It uses a standard V3 gearbox so parts should be very easy to source.

Re: Who makes good metal AEG around £200?

Although (as many seem to know) I'm very much a TM recoil freak these days, I have had a couple of JG's and I really rate them, had an M4 S-system and just loved it, I only sold it when I ended up with about 40 rifles and had a big clear out, I recommend them, they're great guns at whatever price..
"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.

                          Thanks coski.
I think the main thing that puts me off is pot metal but I could thinking of the worst case cheap stuff.

Not 100% sure but is cyma ak line real steel or also pot metal?

                          Thanks.

I think it depends on the model of Cyma AK you have. Some have stamped steel receivers and others have pot metal or aluminium. But to be honest, for the price range you're looking at, it'll be very hard to find a new gun made from steel. Nothing wrong with pot metal really...does the job fine for airsoft!

Very true I have even started looking at G&G plastic versions vs the metal ones.

Other then the metal receiver, stock and hand guard what else is better the internals ? or are really paying for just the metal parts?

                              Thank you.
