  • How to choose a battery?

New to airsoft but not new to battery technology (I've been using lipos for over 5 years). But how do you choose what battery you use? I understand the higher voltage ones require a mosfet in the gun or you'll likely burn out the contacts. My main question is what is standard, and how do you chose the form factor? Connectors isn't a problem for me, I'll swap them all to mini deans on deans

7.4v lipo standard, form factor depends on the gun, you could get several peq boxes for the batteries, solder them in series and hang them off all the rails you can find if you're so inclined!

^^^ Was going to say exactly the same, choose one that fits!

Ideally with the highest mAh rating

Ok, at the hazard of making myself look like a donut, how would you know what fits until you have it in your hands? IE, you have a gun, go to order a battery online, what are the things to look out for and general rule of thumb?

Most places will have the dimensions of the lipo somewhere in the listing. Only useful of you actually have the gun/peq to hand to measure.

by and large the batteries listed on airsoft retailers are a little pricier, but you should be confident that if it says crane stock or stock tube it will fit in either your crane stock or your stock tube.

We could probably help a brother out here if you said what gun you are looking for compatibility with?

              I'm looking at a G&G GC16 MOD 0.

              Thanks for the help!

Front wired, 8.4 mini sized. so, most 7.4v lipos will fit with ease.

I used to use 7.4v 850mAh Li-po's for all my AEG's. I'd have 2 charged but 1 would usually last a full day. Also, you don't necessarily need a MOSFET with relatively low discharge cells.

I ran these cells the entire time I had my Masada and G&G CM16 and never had any problems.

Thanks for the info guys, so when you say front wired, that means the battery mounts by the barrel in front of the receiver, correct? And rear wired is in the stock?

Forgive my ignorance here, still learning! Thanks

You should easily get a split pack in there, you can get a 2600mAh battery for about £20 which will more than last you a full day
