Re: I'm new to Airsoft, I have a few questions!

I'm looking at the G&G Combat Machine AEG AK47, here's the link: http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/produc...oducts_id=5646

At £128 it certainly fits within my budget, however it states the NiMH & NiCD Batteries are not included. As I have absolutely no working knowledge of Airsoft guns could someone let me know what this means? Will I have to purchase a seperate battery?

    Thanks.

That is a very decent starter gun; my youngest son has the blowback version and it seems solid and both the RoF and range are good. However, you will need a battery (an 8.4v 3300mAh NiMH fits nicely in the stock and will last you all day and beyond), a charger and magazines as the version that you have linked to only comes with a 60 round low capacity magazine.

You will also need eye protection and, if you are in any way sensible, a lower face mask. Oh, and you will need a sling.

Quite a few sites seem to insist on under 18 players having lower face protection. They say it is insisted on by the insurance company, but we all know that is the number one excuse (lie) used by anyone enforcing an unpopular rule, so who knows if its true, but as the marshals word is final, and they are not obliged to let you play, there is no point arguing.
Only one skirmish company i know of ban two tones, UCAP, which does sadly include the excellent Sandpit site. I dont milsim, although i hope to change that soon, but was pretty sure they look down on two tone also for "breaking the immersion". Others might correct me there.

Also, are we having a discussion around UKARA/VCRA without it turning into a poop flinging contest? When did we all get so nice?

I believe that to be untrue to a certain extent. The site I marshall at's insurance states that players must adhere to the safety rules, based on the site's own risk assessment, and for the safety of the game they stipulate minors must wear full face. As with most sites, they also recommend full face to everyone, but being an adult, you can choose not to wear it

I believe xsite don't like visible two tones

Re: I'm new to Airsoft, I have a few questions!

I've found two guns that really appeal to me, both with pros and cons

                G&G Combat Machine AEG Blowback RK47 - http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/produc...oducts_id=8790

                CYMA Kalash AKS-74UN - http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-...m#.VXrcQ_lVhBc

I'm also still looking at non-Kalashnikov style weapons such as the M4's, Tar 21's, G36C's and so on.

The G&G blowback AK is the one that my son has; it is a very decent gun. It does make a lovely noise so is not great if you like being sneaky! Personally, I fail to see the attraction of blowback guns that do not give a proper kick.

I've been doing alot of looking around different sites (Please don't crucify me) and I think I've found the gun I want.

                    It's a H&K S&T G36C

Comes with Battery & Charger, Hi-cap mag and I'm also buying a Holo sight for it. All under my price range, of course with face protection and so on.

                    Good choice?

Hiya mate send me a PM if you want and I'll send you my phone number. My son is 12, and has been skirmishing about a year now with me. He is fully sorted and on the cheap too and I would be happy to let you know where and at how much I got all the kit he needed to by protected to the highest degree possible - a mothers expected level of protection!

His mum almost wanted him to wear a full Osprey with all ancillaries plus the T2 nappy... I managed to convince her that a PC, goggles and face mask would suffice and got them good but cheap.
