New player looking to buy first gun
30 June, 2015, 22:01
Hi all,
I'm Michael, living in West Yorkshire, and I'm just about to hit my third game and gain membership at my local field.
I can see why you all do it! It's an amazing game, that me and my friends are enjoying and have already become seriously addicted to!
I'm looking at getting my first gun (as are my friends), and I've done a fair bit of research. I've sort of seen that it's a little on the fence for nearly all manufacturers other than TM. However I'm not looking at spending £600+ on my first gun. That and I don't like the whole polymer thing they got going on. Even if they are sturdy.
I've narrowed it down to a couple of choices, but I will keep an open mind. My price range is around £300 - £400 for the gun and then I will get accessories on top.
ASG Scorpion EVO 3A1 is one of my choices. I know its polymer before you say anything, but at least that's how the real gun is. It's sturdy, versatile, got a decent range but maybe not an M4s range, and its also had some amazing reviews.
The BOLT BR47 keymod assault rifle. This one is full metal, electric blowback, feels very sturdy just a little worried about the blowback breaking my piston after a while, and I do sorta enjoy the AK mags.
And finally the WE katana raptor M4. This seems to be at the top of this range of choices, but a little pricey and I think it has a proprietary piston head/spring? However this one also appears to be built extremely well and has the highest FPS.
All of these are lovely unique weapons. The latter two probably the beat accuracy at range, and full metal. The former being polymer and very versatile, albeit a little small.
As I said I'm open to suggestions and input if anyone can offer some advice at all.
Thank for reading

Re: New player looking to buy first gun
Just wanted to add something.
I'm looking for an out of the box gun that will do me well in the price bracket mentioned above. I may look at upgrading in the future, but I'll probably get a G&G combat machine for that.
Thanks

Yeah but I've had a look at them at there about £450+ and then £50+ for the mags and £40 for a battery. It's a bit crazy haha

I'm new also and from what research I've done I'm very interested in the Krytac crb or spr.
All reviews seem great and it looks great too.

Gun = £450
3 Marui Recoil Hicaps = £90
2 x Batteries = £70
TOTAL = £660 so you've spent the £600+ you targeted and have arguably the best out the box AEG

My advice, go to a shop near you that lets you test shoot, then find something second hand like in the sales on here that is cheap n cheerful, it's a buyers market at mo, you be surprised the offers some may take
Good hunting

Yep i picked up a systema for £200 and a tm m4 recoil for £280 on here last couple of years, systema needed £400 spent on it to get it working but still a real good deal.

That's fair enough. I'll consider it.
I'm currently thinking of getting fore grip, sight etc as well to really customise whatever gun I buy.

Re: New player looking to buy first gun
That's not really customising. Just about every M4 going has a fore grip and sight.

Re: New player looking to buy first gun
*shameless plug* I have a Recoil Shock package for sale, already fitted with Deans, so it can use regular LiPo's, and also has a bunch of mags included.
And it's full metal, only the stock and pistol grip are plastic and polymer respectively.
