  • Re: What capacity mags do you use?

G36E EBB - 120 round mids, and the occasional 430 high cap
    P226 - 24 round pistol mags
    MP7 - 20 or 40 round mags.

Prefer having little ammo and lots of mags. Real caps are OK but mids work better. You cannot get real ammo limits to work like real ammo. You naturally need to shoot more in airsoft, so naturally you need more BBs. Midcaps provide a good number for realism etc.

Midcaps all day everyday. Allows for stealth on the move, reloading is part of fun.

Makes you choose shots instead of spray and pray

Mid Caps for me, enjoy the mag changes, but vary rarely use auto as prefer semi so don't get through so many. Will sometimes only use a mag in a short game. Also the noise reduction. Carry six mags, speedloader and bb's in a cloth bag.

I have a bunch of old TM locaps (68 rds). I carry eight or nine usually, though can pack up to twelve if needs be for a long game.
I find that it adds to the realism having to count rounds and factor in tactical reloads. Plus, as has been said, hicaps are too noisy!

Mid caps for all. Usually carry eight of them and two to three pistol mags for whichever handgun is flavour of the day

mids on everything i can, mostly do ww2 now with 200rnd ammo limit in the rules ,really makes you think about you'r ammo,on walk on days i carry 4-5 mids and rarely use more than 2 in an engagement ,only use for high caps is for support weapons ,my only exception right now is my mp44 because no mids are made and i haven't converted them yet.recently discarded my 10 year old p90 box mag in favour of mag mids,i might start using it again now .

I use high caps. Not because i like to spray and pray, i prefer single on one on one engagement. I use high caps for support for helping my team make it through a hot zone. Yes its noisy, but it doesn't bother me. I mainly use mp5s or ak74su's, but i tend to get pretty close for the benefit of my team. If i can keep a few heads down and get my team across a hot zone without them getting hit even if i do, its cool beans. If i plan on being sneaky ive got an m16 for long shots, but still use high caps for when the proverbial poop hits the fan. I like midcaps, just dont like having to reload them with a speed loader, im sure some can testify to that!

                      currently I run Hi-caps.
but that's mainly because I can't afford the 5-6 decent quality mid-caps (I don't like plastic mags) I'd need to make running them a practical option.
when I get the cash, I may well make the switch.

                      • Lonex flash mags all the way. I don't see why people try and make the sport realistic when it's just a game, I carry 7 lonex flash mags each game. Why not?

I use 4 120 round MAG midcaps and take out 2 450 Round hi-caps as back up. It's rare I actually get down to the highs.

I find it a hell of a lot quicker to drop my mag and load a fresh one than wind up a hi-cap. In a firefight you generally get shot in which case you have time to recover your mags. Or you shoot the other guy, again you have time to recover you mags.

Also I fill the hi's as much as possible so they dont rattle

Personally I use mid caps so I don't have to spin the wheel on the bottom to feed them and so the mags don't rattle about not because it's more realistic, 80 round magazines are not realistic at the end of the day!
