Cyma, G&G or TM
17 May, 2010, 18:07
Now before you start raving about the TM M14 being the best and so on, its £330.
So the real question i want to ask here is:
The Cyma M14 Socom is £120.
The G&G M14 Socom (Soc 16) is £199.99
The TM M14 Socom is £329.99
So which is the best for the money.
From what i understand the Cyma is rather good.
I haven't heard much about the G&G.
The TM M14 is just awesome.
But the question is is it worth 200 or 130 pounds more than any other M14 Socom?
Many Thanks,
Jmusa

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
If you have reason to test TM's pricing, then you don't want to buy that do you. As you'll always be thinking i could have saved that much if i bought that. The Cyma is a decent gun. Add a new hop rubber and tightbore barrel and it will shoot great. The G&G soc16 is also another great rifle. However is picky with mags. I for one would choose the CYMA each and every time

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
For £200 the G&G is good value! Their externals are better than the TM and with a good quality barrel and hop you have something decent.
Edit: As hunter said, picky mags is it's only let down

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
When you say picky with mags
will it take king arm mid caps?

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
I believe it's only CA and G&G mags it takes, but I'm not 100% sure

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
I believe what Fizzy said is correct. As it isn't a Marui clone.
And if you choose the Cyma stay away from the KA midcaps anyways. They are total B****CKS

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
As Fizzy said, CA and G&G only, and the mags aint cheap!
I bought Fizzy's Cyma M14 from him, its bloody awesome, and now pimped with a tb barrel, and has never missed a beat, second hand and fires like new!

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
The long version you're looking at is real wood (and they're both out of stock)

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
there is also a black stock one for 275
can be rather confusing.
anywho i think the cyma is the best option.
now i just need to find somewhere that does the Socom version.

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
It's in stock in 1-2 U.K retailers. But £150-£160 not £120 you listed

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
Oh ok well i thought it would be the same price as the long version.
also i take it the cyma takes all mags bar G&G and CA.
so a tightbore and a new hop rubber should do it?

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
pretty much! I was quite happy with it as standard, snapped up a promy tightbore from the forums for pennies, changed the rubber when I swapped the barrel, not looked back since!

Re: Cyma, G&G or TM
Yup, i'd get TM Midcaps as they feed flawlessly. And yeah, start off with just a new hop rubber, and then a new barrel if needed. The stock barrel will need a good clean from new, before you do anything radical
