M14 or P90?
18 May, 2010, 19:40
Hi guys i am just wondering whether to get a M14 Socom or a FN P90.
What i am thinking of:
Cyma M14 Socom £155.00
G&P Acog TA31 W/ Docter sight £150.00
OR...
Tokyo Marui P90 TR £215.00
G&P Eotech Type 552 £98.90
Nitro RIS Front End for P90 £27.90
P90 box Mag adapter For Stanag Magazines £30.00
Total Cost For M14 is £305.00
Total Cost For P90 is £371.80
What is the most reliable?
What is best for CQB?
what is best for woodland?
In the end they should look like the 2 pictures below.
Many thanks

Re: M14 or P90?
You not really going to beat the P90 for manoeuvrability :D
In terms of reliability, who knows. But the P90 V6 gearbox is THE easiest gearbox to work on due to its design!
Why on earth though spend £100 on a sight (which is just like the £15 ones!) and then skimp on the mag convertor?

Re: M14 or P90?
because I am going to be using the sights all the time and will not be intending to use the mag converter all the time.
i also plan to get some regular p90 mids

Re: M14 or P90?
Really, m15 woodland, p90 cqb.
P90 with mag conversion looks sooo shit!
M14 with acog looks good.
I would actually take the M14, as i personallyt play woodland more than cqb.
You dont want a M14 for cqb. For cqb you need a P90 or Mp5, MP7,Mp9 or tmp, whatever...
p90 looks good with eotech but nothing else like front rails and mag adaptor

An airsoft sight is for show. With all the factors and limited range, by time I'm in yoru cross hair I would have fired 3 shots and adjusted to get you on the number 3 :D

Re: M14 or P90?
i have used a mates p90 and the range was fantastic suprisingly enough!
so i dont really know what i plan to do i mostly play woodland but i can use both for woodland and cqb.

Re: M14 or P90?
Wow, they're silly prices for the Eotech. For about £30 more you can buy a Hurricane - the best of the best.
G&P one's can be bought for £50 brand new delivered from HK. So forget that £100 nonsense.
Also for £28 that won't be a Nitro front end, it will be the Chinese made copy, which is probably better (I've had numerous problems with my Nitro).
Most reliable - TM
Most effective in Woodland - TM P90.
Think the above says it all for CQB.

Re: M14 or P90?
P90, ideally because its TM. - I'm a fan of P90s, worth getting as again; TM wins over cyma, despite being an m14.
None of this RIS stuff for the p90 or m14, both IMO look wrong. ACOGs on an m14 don't look great, but still used in the real world...

Re: M14 or P90?
I use my TM P90 for everything and i have not had problems with range in anyway, it out ranges most guns as standard and is very accurate with a great rate of fire
Just forget the sight :D
P90 all the way
Ask about joining the UNIT

Re: M14 or P90?
I've owned both guns, and in my opinion the TM P90 wins. It's a cracking little gun, the first gun I worked on and an absolute dream to do so! Two screws and the GB is out, one latch and the barrel and hop are out, a dream! Also, it is going to be more reliable and probably outperform the M14 without it's size.
P90 hands down :D
