Action can /go pro
20 April, 2016, 13:01
Hi all
Need abit of advice as I'm starting to want to record my game days and weekenders what's the best sort of recorder I can get to attatch to my rifle or helmet.
I know you can get action cams that look like torches etc but also I know a lot use go pros so just some advice on which is best to get
Thanks

Re: Action can /go pro
Best in terms of support and accessory availability is probably the Go-Pro

Re: Action can /go pro
Best bet is to go read some Go-Pro reviews, ideally where they compare it with other cameras, and decide for yourself. Any decent review will have some footage clips so you can compare.

Re: Action can /go pro
GoPro is among the best quality for footage.
The contours are easier to mount on a gun or side of the helmet, whereas the GoPro and GoPro shaped cameras tend to work better on an NV helmet mount/headstrap.
The SJ mentioned above is dirt cheap and offers very admirable performance. Suffers more than a GP and contour with low light performance and dark-light/light-dark transitions. It's any bodies guess how well it will last being a Chinese knock off however it's like 40-50 quid, so it's a great price.
section 24 of the 1968 Act
Supplying imitation firearms to minors
1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

I cant stand the look of the go-pro, it makes you look like a Tellytubby! :P
I dont record my airsoft skirmishes but Ive been considering using my motorbike helmet camera to do so - Drift Ghost HD, amazing little bit of kit. Unlike the Go Pros theyre waterproof, armoured and shock proof right out of the box, no need for extra cases, cheaper than Go Pro, and they use the standard universal camera mounting platform rather than Go Pro's propriatary mount meaning you can use any mount you want to fit whatever you want.
