Uncharged batteries how long can you keep them uncharged?
4 May, 2016, 21:11
I bought a battery. I thought I killed it as while I was changing the connector to deans the positive and negative terminals touched resulting in a big spark.
I thought it was dead.
So I ordered another one. In the mean time I stuck the old battery on my Turnigy just for the hell of it and it put 1596mah into it pretty much the 1600mah capacity. Now I haven't used or charged my other battery can I just leave it indefinitely or is it better to charge it and allow it to discharge naturally?
Thanks

Momentarily shorting out a battery won't damage it, it's something we've all done; bit scary, largely not harmful.
NiMH? They will self discharge over time, but I believe it's ok to store NiMHs uncharged. I wouldn't worry too much.
