Clockwise or counter clockwise

Ok so how do I know which way is which when it comes to buying a silencer? Is a thread cw or ccw by the direction I screw a silencer on or off? Is it it cw or ccw if I'm looking down the sights (aiming the gun) or looking up the barrel (gun pointed at me)? So bloody confusing!

Look down on it, then if it loosens by turning clockwise, it's counter clockwise, if it's the opposite, it's clockwise. What make is the gun?
