First AK purchase help please
5 September, 2016, 12:50
Hello everyone i apologise from the start if this question has been asked to death im looking for my first aeg purchase i have my license now and i definatly want an ak with folding stock think it makes a great woodland/cqb gun. Seems like the g&g is the only one that doesnt really need any upgrading. Thanks.
Ive been looking at the g&g gk74u can't find much info or a proper review
http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/produc...oducts_id=8787
Also a tokyo marui ak47s with the underfolding arm i can price match it to around £250 but im thinking of a m100 upgrade zeroone told me they will replace the bushings and spring
http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/produc...oducts_id=2073
Or just buy cyma have it upgraded with a new barrel hop up and shimmed correctly
And having a look at the classifieds there is an e&l ak74u that is supposed to be only used once but having no warranty is slightly worrying. £230
Also should the barrel length have an effect on playing in the wood lands i.e tm =455 mm vs g&g =275mm

The warranty isn't as much of an issue as the price, considering that model is available brand-new for £260. With which you'd get a full warranty.
Avoid folding stocks made of pot-metal, they break very fast in use.

you sure thats the same model though ? the proper e&l models are over £300 , even the ak74su conversion body alone is £240 ish ,

The brand-new E&L Gen 2 of that model can be had for £260 (I'm not going to mention where from, it's against this forum's rules, and rightly so).
I have no idea what the G&G is made from. A lot of standard AK AEGs are beginning to incorporate more steel in their construction, though none are going as far as the likes of E&L so far as I know.

Re: First AK purchase help please
If you want something small that will also do well in woodland an ak74su would be ideal. I'd advise an E&L or LCT. Now I'm not 100% on the internals as far as I hear they are good but they can be improved over time ,but the good thing about them is the steel body. Which is where the cyma falls flat as the last a while till the body falls to bits.

Re: First AK purchase help please
yea didnt realise you werent allowed to post links but its true, you can indeed buy one new for that, which is good to know thanks siggi, O.P im going for the ghk M4 10.5" barrel {cqb style} , the only reasons im not going for the ghk AKM is because i want to use optics and i cant stand optics and gadgets on ak's and iv already got 2 AK aeg's aswell,
a lot of the guys at my local site use gbb's and they also have gas/spring only games so would be nice to be able to go to them aswell,

That's the one that's already been mentioned above (original post). It can be had brand new for £260.
