What LMG for our team
5 October, 2016, 11:21
Guys and Gals,
I am looking to get an LMG, needs to be light so looking towards the para versions, however I have no previous experience of LMG's.
Reason is for our team, need a gunner and I do not want to use a 'ball bag' mag on an M4, unless i get a very cheap M4 which can be replaced?
Which is a good brand, want decent range etc. out of the box. Seen some A&K?
any advice much appreciated.
thanks
Fizzy

Para version of the A&K or CA is still going to weigh in at 6kg+ unloaded
If that's too heavy, then you'll be looking at an Ares LMG which is about 4.5kg, or perhaps a RPK?

RPK, L86 or Krytac LMG..?
The Stoner LMG is also a pretty good option, pretty light for an LMG.

Depends on why your team is a team. Is it for a specific unit impression, milsim, or just mates for a giggle?

Re: What LMG for our team
I'd second the stoner 63 if you're looking for a lightweight lmg, or an rpk. Even the short versions of 249s weigh a bit more.
If you're looking for a support weapon which acts as one in the real world to get around the rules of a site and get it as light as you can, look into the M27 IAR. Essentially a support variant of a 416.

Re: What LMG for our team
Thanks guys. Just to clarify, we have no 'image' we love to play but we communicate as a team over coms and we think a gunner would help to suppress and hold areas whilst other move up and whilst in fall back.
I have an L85A2 so the L86 could be an option, but it only uses highcap m4 mags, but our man can always use a rig to carry more mags.
The Stoner 64 looks promising. Will have a further look at weights etc. we often move quite fast and never normally sit still for long.
Cheers guys.
