So I've been playing for a year now....
11 October, 2016, 08:56
And I'm looking to move on from my g&g raider, it's a good rifle and i'll be keeping it as a back up, but I have no idea what to replace it with! I like to run and gun, so not interested in sniping/dmr/support..I like the short m4 feel of my raider, I do have a short dot scope on it which I mainly use for spotting campers/snipers, I don't do any tech work apart from barrel cleaning...I like the look of the ics par mk3 with the 10" barrel, and the g&g t4-18, the krytac crb looks ok but a friend of mine had problems with his lvoa so that's put me off a bit, the pdw looks good as well...not interested in ak/mp5/g36, and I will be staying with an aeg, thought about a tm m4 recoil, but I like my hi cap magazine..so any thoughts or suggestions? would prefer personal experiences rather than hearsay

From that spill I think you should keep using your Raider lol. Personally I don't like G&G but I know they Radier stuff is long lasting. I would trial midcaps though. If you like to run and gun why not get a LMG??

that's the trouble my raider just keeps going and I like using it...but fancy treating myself to something new! Really don't fancy lugging an LMG around..

Although it's a bit sacrilegious you can get hicaps for the tm recoils and still have the option of not being a heathen . I can highly recommend them.

Yep, 430Rd hi caps are available, you just loose the bolt lock feature
IMHO the TM recoils are the best AEG out the box

You could try a Scar L or a Masada, they are very decent as standard.

I get the feeling that I'm going to end up with a TM recoil at some point...

Re: So I've been playing for a year now....
Tm recoils are awesome and I would be amazed if anyone got one wasn't happy.
However- if you're going to spend £300-£500 on a new gun the question for me is why? Because you fancy a change is good enough but I would try to pin down what you want from it before you spend your money.

I don't need a new gun, my raider is fine..it's 2 tone but camo taped, so it would be nice to have something that's not 2 tone, (I've had my ukara for 10mths) I'm not fussed about fps or range, my raider chronos at 320ish, and I'd guess the range as 45-50m....I guess what I'm after is something that's a bit nicer/better than my current gun...
I'm compiling a list of recommendations...
TM recoil
ASG Evo
Ameoba M4
G&G T4-18
ICS Par Mk3

Re: So I've been playing for a year now....
If you are looking at a TM recoil and dont care about range or FPS I am going to assume that you usually come into close contact (or play indoors) and that your budget is around £300 to £500.
Firstly I will start with the guns you listed you said you like the ICS par mk3. ICS is decent (or at least in my opinion) I have had a couple of guns from them before and the only issues I have ever had are compatibility both internally and externally however this may not be an issue if you plan on keeping the gun completely stock. You did however mention how you dont do tech stuff which I believe the ICS would cater for you in that department, because even a dummy could learn how to take down the upper gearbox (ICS feature split gearboxes so you can change the compression systems without having to disassemble the gears).
The TM recoil will perform better out the box in terms of accuracy and ROF as you can run a lipo (something I wouldn't recommend in the older ICSs although I dont know about the new ones like the par mk3) and slightly lower in terms of FPS than the ICS not to mention its price tag. The TM however will certainly be the best in terms of compatibility as almost everything is modeled off of Tokyo Marui.
As my personal recommendation I would say get something more known than ICS for its M4s (the TM) but if budget is an issue get something like a G&P CQB, decent out of the box and cheaper than the TM. Its more than the ICS but I would say better quality (ask what other think first) and it also leaves you room for buying anything you may need as dont forget some magazines may not feed in a certain gun or you may need a different type of battery and charger and the small things all add up!

Re: So I've been playing for a year now....
Many thanks...I can get a TM M4 Socom for £380 I'm assuming my 7.4 lipo will fit in the handguard, and I will need a hi cap mag as I'm assuming my G&G one won't fit, I know I'll lose the bolt stop feature but that's not an issue..I can get the ICS Par for £250 I would need a new battery though...the vfc look great but seem a bit expensive...the ameoba is about £250 but the electronic complexity is putting me off...the evo looks good but again seems a bit complicated and not sure if there's hi caps available..the G&G would seem to be a natural choice...I'm starting to get a headache now
G&P well there's an overwhelming number to choose from they do have them in my local shop though.
