Are Galaxy and TM MP5K parts compatible/interchangeable?
19 July, 2010, 20:17
As much as I love the internal quality of TM products the collecter in me just loves the metal more.
I'm picking up a TM MP5K PDW and I'm wondering whether it would be possible to stick a Galaxy metal upper reciever on it? Are Galaxy MP5Ks a copy of TM ones in the same way that AA Glocks are a copy of the TM ones?
If the answer is 'yes,' how difficult a job would it be?
Cheers in advance.

Unless I've missed something, Galaxy only comes in plastic anyway?

Re: Are Galaxy and TM MP5K parts compatible/interchangeable?
Well that will teach me to assume won't it!
Now I look back at some threads I can see that you are right, of course. I've only ever seen pictures of the Galaxy and for some reason just assumed it was a nice bit of Chinese pot metal on the upper reciever. I think it's the metal-looking welding near the rear sight that did it.
Never mind then. Given how expensive the CAs are I won't imagine I'll come across someone selling the reciever cheap any time soon.
Say I did though? Would CA and TM be compatible?
