  • Orange Tip

i know if you dont have a UKARA its illegal to have non two tone guns, but isit still legal to remove an orange tip off of a gun which isnt two tone? I assume it is because not all two tone guns have a orange tip anyway.

UKARA is not the only form of defence.....

If you legally own a non two tone gun it is a Realitric Imitation Firearm and should not have an Orange tip.

They sometimes arrive from HK with them...

            Re: Orange Tip

I'm pretty sure having an orange tip is a USA legal requirement and has nothing to do with uk law. if you don't have a VCRA defence you can't buy orange tipped guns because their not two tone and if you have been given one you can't remove the tip as that would be manufacturing a RIF.

Orange tip is a USA regulation, has no bearing in the UK.

You need to be a bit more specific, If you have a defence against ukara then you can remove the orange tip but if you dont it has to be two toned anyway.

                    Re: Orange Tip

As above Orange tips are a US legislation for RIFs. A lot of guns come from HK and have these on as standard as they send more to the US than here. Some companies will include an unpainted new too. Either strip the paint completely and repaint correctly, or discard and buy a new one.

Rubbish! An orange tip isn't 51% of the gun so it's still classed as a RIF anyway.
As the others have said, remove away!

Yep, the orange trip holds no bearing in the UK- its American legislation that alot of foreign retailers and manufactuers automatically apply knowing that a majority of their produce will go to the States.

i know it's not a two tone. I was making the point that if MrGlockHead doesn't have a VCRA defence he can not physical alter the gun it would be classed as manufacturing a rif.

He can physically alter the gun, what he can't do is to take a gun with more than 50% unrealistic colouring and make the end result less than 50%.
