Hessian sacks for making a ghillie

Anybody know where I can find hessian for ripping up and making a ghillie hat?

Preferably something I can scavenge or get on the cheap as opposed to fabric shops. For example I asked Starbucks if they still take delivery of coffee sacks, but no, they've switched to cardboard boxes (the b@astards :D)

I was thinking old sandbags or something, but then I'd have no idea where to get them either.

It's really hard to come by actual hessian sacks! John Lewis sell hessian by the yard though...

Pound land used to sell large hessian sacks in green and natural thats where i got mine, ebay has a plethora of sandbags you can buy.

just remember if you play a site with pyro, heat retardant your ghille.

Go ask a builders merchant like Bradfords or Travis Perkins - they are very likely to have a spare sack

I buy rice in large 20kg hessian sacks, though you've then got a tonne of rice lying around...

at a good auction site you can get 50 for £25

Some potato sacks are hessian though mostly now they are printed paper bags.

As said use Ebay and buy strips etc or scour local low priced shops etc. If you dont find hessian you could always use burlap or similar.
