Hi guy i want to make my first gun from scratch! Its going to be a high speed set up m4 varient. I know my way around a m4 but as this is my first time building one from scratch, just wondering if any one can give me a list of parts i will need to make a m4 from scratch.

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
complete ver.2 gearbox
upper + lower recievers
motor
pistol grip
handguard
outer barrel
inner barrel
hop unit
stock tube
stock
thats the general idea....
why not buy a gun with decent externals and upgrade the hell out of it? cheaper in the long run, and if you forget summat the gun will have it as standard if it needs it, failsafe

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
[facepalm] you should get more knowledge on the subject beforehand.... but here is a build for an M4, that will cost allot, but can be guaranteed to work together. The internals, will set you back around £250, this is a decent gun btw!
Gearbox:
Systema Energy: Piston, Spring guide, Cylinder (Type 2)
Systema Spring (m110)
Systema Air Nozzle
Systema Tappet Plate
Systema Silent Piston+ Cylinder head set (for version 2 gearbox)
G&P: High Speed Gears, M120 motor, 8mm Brushings, high precision shims, Reinforced 8mm gearbox version 2
Modify Heat Treated Steel Anti Reversal Latch
Barrel and hopup:
G&G Hopup (Plastic)
Systema Bucking
SCS Nub
Prometheus 6.03mm Tighbore barrel 280mm
Electrical System:
I don't really know, try and find a G&P Trigger assembly
Large, tamiya 9.6v battery
small to large tamiya connector (if needed)
I recommend a Mosfet, Deans connectors, and silicon wiring though!
Body:
G&P Full Stock
G&P Metal M4 receiver
G&P TD Grip
G&P Stubby Raider Foregrip
G&P 552 Sight
G&P 249 Front set, (Included RIS handguard, outer barrel, flash hider and front sight) and all the attachment screws etc.
Also get a decent sling...
This build costs over £500 in total. And is very nice! if you just get the internals, it will be about £250 maybe more, as you need the wiring and trigger assembly and gearbox shell etc... which I already have (G&G Ones though)
This is the gun I'm currently turning my G&G GR16 Blowback in to...
search pimp my gun on youtube, and the video by a certain asian airsoft retailer that comes up, at the end, the beige gun uses the same inards as this gun, exept for different wiring, motor and battery etc.
This is also a list of parts... so feel free to adapt it, cant guarantee it will work though!
When the 404 error message gets a 404 error message, you know it's bad...

Thanks for the list thats exactly what i needed as i was unsure about the front end. Im planning on getting a m7a1 g&p front end, if i got that would that cover the outer barrel and handguard?

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
Theres a fantastic custom gun for sale in the aeg section at the mo, g&p custom tank with lots of magpul stuff and madbull hop and tracer etc.
Fantastic unique base if you ask me.
You could use that and only need to add a bigger battery or faster gears...

Phew.....You see quite a few people just waste money. It's painfull to watch. Have you considered getting a good base start as In flames fan says, then adding your touch to the internals.
Guns cost far more to pick and choose every thing rather than up grading gear box, hop and barrel.
As Clot says there is an unusual stubbie on the sales thread, I have faced that it is excellent. Fancy body, funky front end and room in the stock for a good sized battery.

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
Yeah upgrading guns is probably the way forward, my g36 has so far cost about 250 quid.
battery box
foregrip
aimpoint
paint job
3x Magnifier
M120 motor
M100 spring
CA Gears, Bushings Ect.
Improved Wiring, Fuse
And It Owns TBH. very few people pimp g36s so it does stand out. it scares rentals too

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
Problem with building totally from scratch is things like body pins and screws need to be sourced - which can cost a fortune!

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
I love custom guns but really recommend getting a base gun to start with, China clones are fine for this imo, dboys and jg have some great full metal bodies. Then just work on your internals to get it set up how you want.

Re: Help with my first project gun?!
It's not really a custom built gun with a China soft overcoat.
You could do a lot worse than a second hand gat, it wouldn't matter if it wasn't working even as you are fully upgrading it.
